Global Warming.

Global Warming is the rise in the temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans since the late 19th century and its projected continuation. Since the early 20th century, Earth's mean surface temperature has increased by about 0.8°C with two thirds of the increase occurring since1980... continue

(continuation)...Scientists believe that Global Warming is caused by increasing concentrations of Greenhouse Gases produced by human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation ( the indiscriminate felling of trees). Some of these very common Greenhouse Gases include carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, some gases used as coolants in refrigerators and gases from aerosol cans.
These Greenhouse Gases contribute to Global Warming by absorbing infrared rays (heat) and also by depleting the ozone layer.
The Effects of Global Warming are;
  • Climate Change
  • Widespread Coastal Flooding.
We could greatly reduce the amount of these Greenhouse gases into the atmosphere by encouraging practises such as afforestation, planting of trees and using environmentally friendly products and appliances.
' It is our collective responsibility to protect the Earth for us and Generations yet unborn, plant a tree today'
